Who we’re looking for:

Essential:

  • Someone who believes in the Library of Things concept and wants to help it succeed.
  • Someone with access to a van, large vehicle or delivery bike.
  • A full, valid, UK driving license and insurance which covers driving for volunteering purposes.
  • An active person. This role involves manually moving and lifting items.
  • Willing to donate their time and work with us and our volunteers.

Desirable:

  • Live in the Leeds LS6 area ideally.
  • An interest in environmentalism and community based action.
  • Available during our opening hours ideally but not essential. Friday 4-6.30pm. Saturday 1-4pm.
  • A self motivated person with knowledge of delivery practice.
  • Someone with navigation knowledge of the local Leeds/LS6 area and route optimisation.

Technical information:

Time requirements: The role would need approximately 2-4 hours a week of time. The hours would be flexible and wouldn't necessarily entail coming to in person meetings or to the library itself when you were working.

Compensation: We cannot offer compensation but it goes without saying you'd be able to use the library as much as you wanted no matter where you live and borrowing and membership would be free. Fuel mileage used whilst volunteering would be compensated with receipts.

Location: Ideally we are looking for someone in LS6 as we would like to build locally community connections and reduce the carbon footprint travelling to volunteering. However, we welcome help from anyone in Leeds.
