Mental Health affects us all. Sometimes it’s ‘good mental health’ and sometimes we can be in a place where we are struggling.  We all have times when we feel down, stressed, or unable to manage. These feelings often pass, but sometimes they are hard to cope with and you might feel you need extra support.

Mental health problems can range from the worries and anxieties we all experience as part of everyday life, to other longer term problems that affect our daily functioning.

If you are concerned about your mental health it is important to speak to your GP. If you are worried about how to start the conversation with your GP then check out these useful links on the University's webpages.

If you are concerned that your mental health is impacting on your ability to study and cope with life at university then you should make an appointment to speak to the University Wellbeing Team. The Student Wellbeing Team offers a free and confidential service aimed at providing you with information, practical and therapeutic support to help you manage any difficulties you are experiencing.

You can find out more about what the team does and how to get in touch with them here.

If your mental health is having a negative impact on your studies then you can contact the SU Advice Service for information on applying for Extenuating Circumstances. See here for more info.
